Our Story
BACKGROUND
Digital Media Camps is the brainchild of Richard Balfour, who was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. He developed an interest in music and technology at a very early age and spent most of his career as an Information Technology specialist in the areas of digital art media, telecommunications, customer service/support, and corporate training.
From 1998 to 2016, Richard worked within the education system at the elementary and high school levels as a substitute teacher for French and Science. In 2011 he developed a Digital Music Camp program that ran for 3 summers at Dawson College in Montreal. This camp focused on teaching students hands-on skills in music and video content creation.
Richard saw the need for arts and other specialized educators to have access to training materials that they could integrate into their own classroom or studio projects.
